Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Golden Thread. By using Golden Thread, you agree to these terms.
Service overview
Golden Thread provides search and discovery tools for Catholic source materials. Some features are free and some are available through paid subscriptions.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate account information, including a valid email address.
Subscription terms
- Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle, depending on the plan selected at checkout.
- Subscription fees are charged through Stripe, our payment processor.
- You authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
- Plan pricing and features may be updated in the future; if pricing changes, we will provide advance notice before renewal at the new rate.
Cancellation and refunds
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal or by contacting support.
- Cancellation stops future renewals. Your paid access remains active through the end of the current billing period.
- Unless required by law, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable.
- If you believe there was a billing error, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of the charge.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, including attempts to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape at abusive volumes, or access data you are not authorized to access.
Intellectual property and sources
Golden Thread indexes and cites source materials. Rights in underlying texts remain with their respective rights holders. You are responsible for complying with downstream licensing requirements when reusing content outside Golden Thread.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Golden Thread is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised terms.
